New diddi dance Franchise – South Sheffield & Dronfield

April 8, 2016 by Rebecca

We here at diddi dance HO would like to take this opportunity to welcome our newest franchisee, Amanda, who will be running the new franchise – diddi dance South Sheffield & Dronfield.

Amanda’s first classes launching in April are:

  • Mondays @ 9.30am – Gleadless United Reformed Church, Hollinsend Road , Gleadless , Sheffield, S17 2NP
  • Tuesdays @ 11:00am – St. Paul’s Church and Parish Centre, Norton Lees Lane, Norton Lees, Sheffield, S8 9BD

There are more classes to be launched over the next few weeks so if you are interested in attending a class or you are wanting to book your toddler onto the above class fill in our Book a Free Trial form and address it to Amanda or email her directly by clicking here 🙂

A little bit more about Amanda:

Tell us a bit about yourself and your family:

My name is Amanda Tyas. I have been married to Andrew for nearly 20 years and have two sons Matthew who is nearly 18 and Oliver who is 15.

What did you do before diddi dance?

I am a qualified IDTA dance teacher and have run my own school, the Amanda Holland School of Dance, for over 25 years. Alongside this, I brought my two boys up doing the school runs and ferrying them about to their various after school activities. I was also a founder member and choreographer for Easy Street Theatre Company a youth theatre which prides itself on preparing young actors, dancers and singers for careers in the business. However all this is mostly evening work and as my boys grew more independent, I found myself twiddling my thumbs during the day – which brings me to diddi dance…

Why did you choose a diddi dance franchise?

Whilst twiddling my thumbs, I came up with the idea of a toddler class at the dance school during the day. However, my lack of experience in dealing with this age group quickly became obvious and I turned to the internet for ideas. An internet search turned up the usual suspects but none of these appealed to me, I was however drawn to one I had never heard of – diddi dance. The more I investigated, the more I was sure that this franchise was for me. A trip to London confirmed this and my journey with diddi dance began. I love the classes, the music and the props. It really is completely different to anything I have taught before and the fact that we can take it into nurseries, preschools and primary schools combined with providing original fun filled parties makes diddi dance stand out from the rest. Anne-Marie, Rebecca and Helena have been encouraging and supportive from the off and I really feel I cannot fail with their expertise behind me.

What are you most looking forward to?

I am most looking forwards to watching my diddi dancers develop from shy toddlers to confident preschoolers as they progress through the diddi dance program. I am also looking forwards to my first party – just so I can use my bubble machine!

And finally, which diddi dance theme are you looking forward to the most and why?

I think my favourite diddi dance theme is going to be either Flamenco or Bollywood although I also like the Country and Irish themes. Actually I can’t pick one – I can’t wait to teach them all!

diddi dance Franchisees receive Top Franchise award nominations

February 26, 2016 by Rebecca

We are pleased to announce Caroline & Jennifer who run diddi dance Essex & Emma who runs diddi dance Central Warrington & Central Cheshire and diddi dance North Shropshire, Telford & North West Stoke-on-Trent have both been nominated for Franchisee of the Year in the Top Franchise Awards!

When we ask each franchise about receiving the nomination they had this to say:

diddi dance Jennifer and CarolineCaroline & Jennifer – “We are very honoured to be nominated for this award.  Back in 2010 our lives were quite different.  With our youngest children starting school we really felt it was the right time to consider going back to work but it just seemed such a logistical nightmare to combine our previous work lifestyle, with the addition of our new family lives.  diddi dance offered us the opportunity to have the best of both worlds!  We have both worked incredibly hard and are so proud of the business we have created together, whilst still being present mums in our children’s lives.  To win this award would not only be a personal achievement but confirmation that we have created a fantastic business to be proud of.”

Emma H diddi danceEmma – “I am over the moon to have been nominated for this award.  Since joining diddi dance in 2012, not only have I had amazing fun with a fabulous business but I have truly gained a flexible new career.  I am lucky to have an amazing job that I love and that brings many rewards both financial and in terms of my lifestyle.”

This is a publicly voted category so feel free to lend your support to one or both of our franchises by clicking here. Voting ends 15 April with the winner being announced in May.

We will be keeping our fingers crossed for you ladies!

New franchisee for diddi dance Aberdeenshire

January 15, 2016 by Rebecca

Wendy diddi danceWe here at diddi dance HO would like to take this opportunity to welcome our newest franchisee, Wendy, who has recently taken over the running of one of our Scotland franchises – diddi dance Aberdeenshire.

There are multiple classes already running in the area but more will be opened over the next year, so get in touch with Wendy today to express your interest in an area where diddi dance currently isn’t running. To see the current classes running visit click here and type in your post code.

To book your toddler onto any of the Aberdeenshire current classes fill in our Book a Free Trial form and address it to Wendy 🙂

A little bit more about Wendy:

Tell us a bit about yourself and your family:

My name is Wendy, I live in Ellon, Aberdeenshire with my husband and our two little girls, Isabella age 5 & Phoebe age 1. After taking a career break from the oil industry I decided it was time to look into a new venture and pursue an area of work I have always wanted to be in…..here I am!

What did you do before diddi dance?

Before diddi dance I worked in the oil industry as a personnel logistics coordinator. I don’t have a dance background but have always enjoyed dance based exercise and love helping out with the children at playgroup & nursery, etc. I have for a long time wanted to take a shift in career towards working with children and diddi dance ticks all the boxes for me.

What made you want to take on an already established diddi dance?

Taking on an already established diddi dance appealed to me because there was already a client base in place to work with and the potential to grow it is a business in the area is great.

And finally, what are you looking forward to the most with your new diddi dance franchise?

I am most looking forward growing the business in my area and seeing the benefits of this fab concept for all the budding wee diddi dancers out there that I’ve yet to meet!

Wendy’s is starting during our Hip Hop theme so don’t forget to book your FREE trial today and join our diddi dance crew!

January 8, 2016 by Rebecca

Tejal diddi danceWe here at diddi dance HO would like to take this opportunity to welcome our newest franchisee, Tejal, who will be running the new franchise – diddi dance Harrow & North Hillingdon.

Tejal’s first batch of classes will start from 11th January, 2016 and are:

  • From 11th January, Mondays @ 9:45am – Pinner Methodist Church Main Hall, Love Lane, Pinner, Middlesex, HA5 3EE
  • From 13th January, Wednesdays @ 9:35am – The Stables at Manor Farm, Ruislip, Middlesex, HA4 7AR
  • From 15th January, Fridays @ 10:00am – Bernays Hall, 25 The Broadway, Stanmore, Middlesex, HA7 4DA

To book your toddler onto any of the above classes fill in our Book a Free Trial form and address it to Tejal 🙂

A little bit more about Tejal:

Tell us a bit about yourself and your family:

My name is Tejal, I’ve been a stay at home mum with my 2 kids for the last 3 years. diddi dance is my return to work combining my love of learning and dance with my love of children!

What did you do before diddi dance?

I was an Accountant before I had my children and whilst not working I volunteered as a treasurer for my local NCT branch where we provided information and events for mums. I also attended the local diddi dance classes with my children .

Why did you choose a diddi dance franchise?

diddi dance was one of many toddler classes I have attended with my children and I was struck by how unique and effective the classes were whilst still being a lot of fun. My Daughter remembers class elements well over a year since she last attended. I decided on a career change to provide a better work-life balance, I’ve seen first hand how great diddi dance is so I wanted to be a part of this and bring classes to my local area. When I was growing up I regularly took part in various cultural dance shows, diddi dance allows me to enjoy this again as well being able to positively affect the lives of Parents, Carers and their children and I fully understand how important these things are being a mum myself.

What are you most looking forward to?

I am really looking forward to the challenge of getting classes in my area up and running, and of course once I have regular diddi dancers I am really looking forward to watching them enjoy themselves and grow as diddi individuals.

And finally, whhich diddi dance theme are you looking forward to the most and why?

I love the flamenco theme, the music and the moves are so beautiful!

Tejal’s classes will be starting during our Hip Hop theme so don’t forget to book your FREE trial today!

Charlene will continue to run classes in Highbury & Islington, Stoke Newington and surrounding area, until she can find someone to take over this area as well. If you are potentially interested in purchasing Charlene’s remaining area contact her directly on [email protected].

A little bit more about Anushcka:

Tell us a bit about yourself:

My name is Anuschka and I am a professional dancer & dance teacher in my twenties. I am originally from Germany and moved to London in 2013.

Two years later, it was time for a new adventure, so here I am.

What did you do before diddi dance?

Before I started working for diddi dance as a teacher in 2014, I had graduated from a German ballet school, where I had been trained mainly in classical ballet and contemporary dance, and moved to London in order to establish myself as a performer and dance teacher.

However, it wasn’t until I joined diddi dance, when I fully discovered my passion and love for teaching toddlers as young as 18 months and giving them their first experience in a sport and more importantly a form of art that has had and continues to have such a great influence on my life and myself as a person.

How were you affiliated with your new diddi dance franchise before taking it over?

I have been teaching the classes at Artsdepot in North Finchley and delivered weekly sessions at the Bringing up Baby nursery in Kentish Town. I have covered classes at most if not all diddi dance venues in North London at some point and always felt very much part of the diddi dance family there.

What made you want to take on an already established diddi dance?

Taking over an already established diddi dance franchise meant I didn’t have to start from scratch – I could pick it up at a point where it is already running successfully, delivering a great number of fun and action packed classes to an even greater number of toddlers, and I feel confident that I will be able to take it even further from here.

And finally, what are you looking forward to the most with your new diddi dance franchise?

I am very much looking forward to the responsibilities that come with owning, running and growing a business – however, if there is one thing I look forward to most, it would be the chance to share my love for dance with even more diddi ones and being rewarded with their smiles at the end of even more diddi dance classes.
