New diddi dance classes starting in May!

A lot of our Franchisees are starting new classes in May and we wanted to be sure you knew about them all:

diddi dance South Manchester has a new class that has just started in East Didsbury, Manchester in the Dance Studio in the Sports Centre at Parrs Wood High School, M20 5PG from 9-9.45am. This is a new class added after both the 10am & 11am classes both filled up. Be sure to book fast before this one is full too!

diddi dance Essex has a class that has also just started.  If you’re available on Thursday from 10-10:45am join us at Dance Steps Academy – Knightsbridge House, 26 High Street, Billericay, CM12 9BQ.

diddi dance North Essex & Cambridge has a new TWINS class!! Feel like your the only one running around after 2 kids? Not anymore! Come and join the relaxed twins diddi dance class at Quendon & Rickling Village Hall in Quendon, Essex on Fridays from 11-11:45am.

diddi dance Dulwich, Crystal Palace, Sydenham & Streatham has a new class that just started in Crystal Palace at Living Water Satisfies Cafe on Wednesday 10am. This is a lovely location in a room at the back of the cafe, a great place to meet friends for a coffee before or after the class.

News from diddi dance Eastbourne, Uckfield & Hastings!

Joanna diddi danceJoanna who runs diddi dance Eastbourne, Uckfield & Hastings is taking part in the Eastbourne Sports Festival 2014, which is being held by the local council in partnership with the NSPCC. Essentially, there’s a variety of sports and activities on offer across several sports sites in Eastbourne over the weekend of 17th & 18th May and anyone can try any of them for just £1 each! Also that weekend, Joanna has arranged for a group of diddi mums and her to take part in the Chestnut Tree House Midnight Walk 2014 – a ladies only 10 mile walk at midnight (as it would suggest) along Eastbourne seafront to raise money for Chestnut Tree House. This our only children’s hospice in Sussex – and the charity that Joanna raised money for at her diddi dance 10th Birthday party last summer. Good luck Joanna and diddi mums!

Next, on Saturday 24th May, Joanna will be providing diddi dance entertainment for the little ones at Jack’s Dream’s Teddy Bears Picnic in St Leonards.  Jack’s Dream is a small local charity that provides financial and emotional support to families who have lost a little one at an early age.  The money raised goes towards Memorial Headstones for the bereaved families, amongst other things. Amanda Holden brings her daughter to diddi dance!

Recently, in a Radio Times article, Amanda Holden discussed how she spends her time and mentioned diddi dance:

“My children don’t suffer. They have their dad, and when I’m not working I’m a full-time mum – monkey music, diddi dance. I shake my maracas with the best of them.” Time to return to being a mum. “You need to finish your cupcake,” she chides. Micromanaging?

diddi dance’s Franchise Director is a Finalist in the 2014 NatWest EWIF Awards!

We at diddi dance would like to take a moment to congratulate our Franchise Director, Rebecca Duschl, on being selected as a finalist for The Franchise Show 2014 Woman Franchisor employee of the Year Award.

This award is about “recognising the most successful franchisor woman employee during 2013” and since she has been with diddi dance, Rebecca has done nothing but support and encourage the success of the company.

In January 2013 Rebecca took on the role of Regional Franchise Manager for East Anglia & South of England and through her initiative and previous Marketing experience she helped the company have its biggest growth since launching as a franchise. Then in September 2013 diddi dance officially promoted Rebecca to Franchise Director, not only to help steer new franchisees into the company with ease but to also help current franchisees in whatever manner necessary to increase their growth, as well. Rebecca has said about being a finalist “I am truly honoured to have been nominated by my fellow diddi dancers and hope that I can only continue to impress & encourage those I work with.”

The Awards, which will be held on Thursday, 22 May at RBS House in London, are a chance to provide an exciting opportunity for the recognition of women’s development in franchising and others in the industry who have contributed to women in franchising. Both Rebecca and diddi dance Founder Anne-Marie Martin will be attending the awards with their fingers, arms and legs crossed.

Join our Campaign to get children moving!

At diddi dance we recently conducted some research into adult’s awareness of the amount of physical activity their child should be engaged in. Shockingly 93% of adults were completely unaware that children under the age of 5 should be physically active for at least 3 hours a day!

Looking into adult’s perspectives on children’s exercise, we uncovered that over a third of Brits (34%) believe that children under 5 years old should be getting only 30 minutes of physical activity a day. What’s more, one in seven (14%) believe that young children don’t need to exercise because they run around enough as it is.
