Great features for diddi dance Franchisees this January

Fantastic features for some of our franchisees this month, all of which had some great visuals from classes attached to them to help everyone see how much fun toddlers have at diddi dance.

First, diddi dance Plymouth & Surrounding had a lovely feature in the Plymouth Herald all about how they left behind their previous careers to become diddi dance franchisees and how now they are award-winning franchisees!

Then, diddi dance Oxford & Surrounding had a local television company, That’s Oxfordshire, along to a class to find out all about the newly launched diddi dance in the area! They spoke with franchisee Tatiana and some parents about why diddi dance is great for toddler in helping them to develop their social and creative skills.

Next, diddi dance South East Hampshire & Chichester had their local That’s television company, That’s Solent, along to one of her classes. They interviewed franchisee Liz and some of the parents all about diddi dance & why it is so great to attend!

diddi dance North Essex & South Suffolk was chosen by DaddiLife as their Activity of the Week so the Daddy bloggers came along to film a class to show their readers exactly what toddlers get up to with us.

Lastly, diddi dance North & Central Leeds had a local mummy blogger along to a class to give an honest review about exactly what happens in one of our classes. Her and her daughter loved it and and would definitely recommend it to other parents:

diddi dance Shortlisted in 2018 mumandworking Awards

Our North Essex & South Suffolk franchisee, Charlotte Foxley, has just been nominated for Franchisee of the Year at the 2018 mumandworking Awards.

Charlotte started her diddi dance in September 2015 and over the past two years she has grown the franchise to be a very successful and prominent one.

The mumandworking Awards are all about:

  • Recognising the substantial contribution to the UK economy

A little bit more about Helen:

Tell us a bit about yourself:

My name is Helen, and I live with my amazing husband Ed in Worcester. We moved here about 4 months ago from Chester. Although we haven’t been in the Midlands long, we both love it here! And both agree that moving to Worcestershire was the best decision we have made in Years!

What did you do before diddi dance?

I worked in an office, doing QA and Document Control. This meant many hours sat on my own, essentially talking to myself and quality checking documents….. for hours at a time!

Why did you choose a diddi dance franchise?

Whilst I was in Chester, I used to go to the gym before work most mornings. This is where I was lucky enough to meet Suzie, the franchisee owner on the Wirral. After weeks of Suzie coming to spin in her diddi dance hoodie, I finally plucked up the courage to ask what it was. When my Ed and I moved to the midlands, I realised that there was a gap in the market, so I dropped Suzie a message, and the rest is history! 🙂

What are you most excited about for your new business?

I love being active. Sitting at a desk, doing the same work day after day was soul destroying. I think it’s safe to say with so many little ones and parents coming to classes on a weekly basis, plus so many personalities in one room, there will be no two days the same!

Plus the kick I get out of working for me, is amazing. A total high!

And finally, which diddi dance theme are you looking forward to the most and why?

I have thought about this one quite a bit, having been asked in training. I think it has to be Bollywood! When I came to observe my first class during the open day, it was a Bollywood based lesson. The music, the routine – I feel in love with diddi dance right there!

Tell us a bit about yourself:

I genuinely believe Family is one of the greatest blessings people have here on earth. That’s where the life begins…First we are born in the family and then we make our own.

I am very fortunate to have 3 amazing men in my life – my husband and two sons. My inspiration, my happiness, my rock, my everything.

What did you do before diddi dance?

I am qualified as a teacher and before diddi dance I have worked with children for around 10 years.

Why did you choose a diddi dance franchise?

Having a child could sometimes become a life changing event. After having my second I have decided to search for something that wouldn’t just suit my experience, my personality, my lifestyle but also would allow me to work for myself without the need to sacrifice my family. I started to research and analyse various options and it seems like diddi dance just ticked all the boxes!!! I got in touch with the local franchisee and after her statement – “diddi dance was the best decision of my life” I just couldn’t wait to start!!!

What are you most excited about for your new business?

I think it isn’t just business – there is so much more in it.

Every child is different and everyone is an amazing GIFT. Especially those first years of their life are so precious, but sometimes we notice too late. diddi dance is a wonderful chance not just to help your little ones to flourish but also this is an incredible opportunity to bond with your child. I’ve seen so many mums who have joined in during the class and truly enjoyed this dancing experience. There is a breathtaking amount of energy! And there we come to another important aspect of diddi dance – the fundamental goal to get children moving. With 1 in 5 children in UK being overweight we need to do our best to encourage them towards healthy and happy life.

And finally, which diddi dance theme are you looking forward to the most and why?

Well I suppose it will be anything similar to belly dance! Bollywood is amazing, but I absolutely fell in love with Hula… It was simply mesmerising watching Hula dancers in Hawaii – they were just floating on stage…So, bring on Hula time!!!!

Bloggers talking about diddi dance

Recently our media coverage amongst Influencers & Bloggers has done really well, mostly due to our partnership with eOne but we can’t help but be excited about all the recent exposure and what might come from it.

Because of our partnership we were invited to a special PJ Masks Halloween Party where a slew of Parent Bloggers were in attendance to learn more about what the TV show had going one – including our week partnership. All the bloggers had wonderful things to say about the session Anne-Marie, diddi dance Founder, put on that day and not only did it make them all interested in coming to a class but their readers as well!

We also recently had a Daddy Blogger, Daddy’s Log, come along to a session run by diddi dance Plymouth and he couldn’t have had nicer things to say about the session:
“It was a whirlwind from there! Warm up, gathering in circles, counting in English, French and Spanish, holding hands dancing in circles, galloping up the hall, hula hoops, pom poms and the introduction of the terms jive dance theme… The children were taught to line up at the wall, sit in a circle, wait their turn, shout, be silly and show enthusiasm. All the adults joined in with various levels of awkwardness generally fading as things moved along. Holly as an instructor was excellent, so enthusiastic and attentive with all of the children even remember all of their names!”
We love hearing when parents appreciate and understand what we are trying to do at diddi dance. Hopefully, this will turn more potential customers towards us and increase the awareness of the brand into areas we don’t have diddi dances so the demand to open one grows!

PJ Masks Super Dance Party with diddi dance Recap

Our PJ Masks Super Dance Party week, which ran in all diddi dance classes from 30 October to 4 November, was one of the most fun experiences all of us at diddi dance have ever had!

The event, which was the first partnership between us and eOne, the creators of PJ Masks, ran across 40 locations, in over 600 classes and was attended by just under 4,500 children.

“Around 150 children under the age of four attended the PJ Masks Super Dance Parties held in partnership with their local diddi dance classes in North London. They learnt all the moves they usually see their favourite superheroes – Catboys, Gekko and Owlette – do on TV and had an absolute blast dancing with tapsticks, ribbons and hula hoops. Lot’s of children came dressed as their favourite character and they were so proud to receive their very own PJ Masks certificate at the end of the session. All classes were run to raise money for the Youth Sport Trust – a fantastic charity that encourages children to get active and live a fit and healthy lifestyle.”

“We had lots of fun during our PJ Masks Super Dance Party week learning new Superhero moves!
There were some very cute costumes, with Owlette seemingly the favourite character amongst the various classes. Thank you to everyone who helped raise money for Youth Sports Trust.”

Another focus of the week was to raise funds for the Youth Sport Trust – a national children’s charity dedicated to transforming the lives of children and young people through the power of sport and physical activity. All classes were raising money to support this charity throughout the month of November and altogether we raised amlost £3,000.

To cap off the PJ Masks fun we at diddi dance ran a Facebook competition for all those diddis who dressed up for the occasion. By parents posting an image of their toddler dressed up for the Super Dance Party to our Facebook page they were automatically entered into our competition, awarding 3 winners PJ Masks goodies! With over 90 entries our lucky winners were announced on 13th November – don’t they look great?!

We hope those of you who were able to take part in our PJ Masks Super Dance Party week at diddi dance enjoyed yourself, and for those of you who may have missed it hopefully we’ll have some more fun partnerships happening in our classes over the coming months!
